Sports nutrition and exercise, in ancient times
Believe it or not, sports nutrition and exercise were part of the life of man and his culture since the time soon. Sport during this time, of course, was known as athletics. The earliest forms of athletics, however, were part of the basic human need for survival, gather food or to protect his family from physical damage.
For a simple man cave which knows nothing of martial arts, a sturdy bone from his last supper can serve as a weapon against wild animals.This residue of bone, coupled with some sharp stone chip from its cave, is used for hunting. Finally, his regular hunting had developed activities in some form of physical acts, without so much for hunting.
Thus was born the athletics. Athletics developed at the end in a contest of strength, speed and other skills. Sport would subsequently developed out of this, with the help of simple develop in a more complex shape of physical activity and with it the need of sustenance, completing the equation of the sporting nutrition and exercise.
But also during the first hour, athletics or sport was never a monopoly male. Heraen games, for example, women ran in honor of the goddess Hera. The Egyptians had their acrobatic gymnastics related activities for their temple. And of course the dance sport had evolved from religious dance related performed in each main temple in antiquity.
The first Greeks belongs, however, the honour of raising the sport in an art form. the Olympics is the strongest argument for this. Furthermore, the Greeks, apparently knows that the sports nutrition and exercise are two important factors for any physical exercise. Even during this time, the Greeks had a special series of food for their athletes.
Models of nutrition of the early Greeks
In the Mediterranean world, Greeks, in particular, is the most common source of meat, goat and occasionally beef from cattle sacrificed.Just like in the modern day, milk was also considered a must for a good meal, especially for athletes.Sports nutrition and exercise among the first Greeks meant also the inclusion of other sources of protein, fish, for example, known for the seas of the Mediterranean in ancient times. Poultry was also part of the diet of the early Greeks.
Vegetables and carbohydrates were considered as important item of sports nutrition and exercise among people of old also among soldiers of the Roman Empire, a balanced diet is important to maintain their strength, both in battlefield and during operation.

Diet of ancient athlete, just like today's coaches, trainers during antiquity occupied a prominent place among their people and also between the athletes themselves. they not only provide the exercise regime for their athletes, but also directly involved in the preparation of food for their expenses. sports nutrition and exercise, apparently, is a concept that has not lost the first coaches and athletes.
From food that included the regular diet of athletes old, such as cheese, fig and meal cakes, attempting trainers ancient to special meal developed for their athletes were evident.
